Thefts prompt Roeland Park police to warn residents to lock their cars

Roeland Park police are asking residents to be sure to lock their vehicles after a rash of thefts in the northeast part of the city over the past couple weeks.

On Sunday night, several unlocked vehicles were entered by prowlers and one person reported tools had been stolen. Two suspects driving a green Honda with chrome wheels and one black wheel were chased away by a witness, police reported.

Chief John Morris asked residents to keep an eye out for the car in question and call 911 it they see it in their neighborhood.

“Lock your cars and don’t leave anything in plain view that might be an easy target to steal,” Morris said.
