This Saturday is the 56th Annual Overland Park Fall Festival Parade, an event that transforms its historic downtown with marching bands, a classic car show, arts and crafts booths and music.

The event begins at 7 a.m. with the Farmers Market. The craft fair opens at 9 a.m. and the parade down Santa Fe Trail Drive begins at 10 a.m. Last year, there were 90 entries and more than 2,000 participants.

The event draws an estimated 30,000 people and activities include a classic car show, sales by downtown merchants, food trucks, children’s entertainment and live music performances on multiple stages.

Bands that will be performing include The Smithereens, Dixie Doodlers, Sonic Joy and the Overland Park Orchestra. Kids’ performances include the Stone Lion Puppet Theatre.

The Thieves of Flight acrobatic troupe will be among the performers at the Interurban Art House Stage.

Street closures will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
