Marcus McCullough would have appreciated a fitness facility like Bootcamp Fitness KC when he was a high school and college soccer player.
“I wish I’d found a gym like this 20 years ago,” said the new owner of Bootcamp Fitness. “The training is much more precise for athletes and older people.”
McCullough closed on his purchase of the 7,000 square-foot fitness center at 5317 W. 94th Terrace in Prairie Village in late July. Except for some new signage, the operation remains much the same.
“Any member that works out is in and out the door in less than an hour,” he said. “Our place is for people who want to work out but have a life to live.”
The six trainers offer themed exercise classes that include cardiovascular, strength and conditioning. There are currently 162 members, but McCullough said the facility could handle up to 250 comfortably.
Memberships cost $222- to $274 per month depending on the number of personal training sessions. All members can participate in an unlimited number of classes.
To celebrate the new management, Bootcamp Fitness held an open house Thursday evening that was catered by the Taco Republic.
