Mission Hills ranked No. 2 in the state on the latests safety survey.

Northeast Johnson County communities continue to pop up on almost every survey of the safest places to be in the State of Kansas.

To reinforce what we already know, another survey has placed Mission Hills, Fairway, Prairie Village and Leawood along with Shawnee as among the 20 safest places to live. The survey by Safewise.com says it used recent FBI crime data to identify the cities that made its top 30 list (Lenexa and Olathe also made the top 30).

That only backs up other measures that we previously reported on crime data that put Leawood and Prairie Village in the top spots for all of the cities in Kansas.

The most recent rankings analyze both violent crimes per thousand population and property crimes per thousand. Mission Hills ranked number 2 in the state. Other rankings were Fairway – 2; Prairie Village – 8; Leawood – 12; Shawnee – 20.
