Prairie Village Police holding “Coffee with a Cop” this Thursday. The Prairie Village Police Department will hold one of its “Coffee with a Cop” gatherings from 7 to 9 a.m. this Thursday, July 21 at Starbucks in the Village Shops. Community members are invited to come, enjoy a cup of coffee, and talk informally with police officers about whatever community issues might be of interest.

Atlanta Dugout says Joey Wentz’s first four appearances with the Gulf Coast League Braves may earn him a trip up the minor league ladder. The Roeland Park City Council Monday tabled a scheduled discussion of the use of executive session after confusion about who had placed the item on the agenda, A resident has complained about overuse of executive sessions by the council in recent weeks. The agenda item came up after the council had been in session for more than three hours Monday.
