The Northeast Johnson County Conservatives on Monday unveiled their endorsements for the upcoming primary elections.

They are:

  • Greg Smith over Dinah Sykes in the Senate District 21 Republican primary
  • Neil Melton over Dorothy Hughes in the House District 21 Republican primary
  • Republican Rob Johnson (unopposed) in House District 24

Melton was one of the co-founders of the organization when it launched last year, but stepped down from the board of directors ahead of his entry into the race for the District 21 House seat. Mike Jones is the new chair of the organization.

“As we are a state PAC we decided for this time to only endorse statewide elections that were within our geographical area,” Jones said. “It was also deemed that there were more than one conservative candidate running for sheriff so we chose not to endorse in that race.”
