A car with a young woman and two small children inside rolled over onto its top in an accident shortly before 6 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of 77th and Nall Avenue in Prairie Village.
Early investigation indicated a first car was stopped on Nall to turn left and the second car tried to avoid a rear end collision by moving to the right, but clipped a tree and rolled over onto the first car. Both cars were headed southbound on Nall.
All of the occupants were wearing seat belts and the children were in proper car seats, officers at the scene emphasized, which likely prevented serious injury. They were out of the car when firefighters and police arrived and did not require to be transported for medical help. They were being attended to at the scene by medical personnel.
None of the neighbors gathered at the site saw the accident happen. The relationship between the driver of the rollover car and the children was not immediately clear since officers were waiting to interview her.
