First Washington Realty, the Maryland-based company that purchased the Village Shops, Corinth Square and Fairway Shops from the Consentino family in 2014, announced this week that it was bringing in a new manager to oversee the properties.

Michelle Pitsenberger will assume the role that had been previously occupied by Monica Mallory, who left the company last month. Pitsenberger comes to First Washington with 20 years in the commercial real estate industry, most recently managing part of the retail service delivery operation for more than 1,000 Sprint retail locations.

“We are looking forward to bringing Michelle’s extensive experience to our Kansas City-area shopping centers,” said First Washington Vice President Gregg Zike in a release announcing the move. “Most importantly, she understands Kansas City and the sensibilities of this market. We are confident these properties will prosper under her leadership.”

Pitsenberger will also manager operations for the Brookside Shopping Center, which First Washington acquired before its purchase of the northeast Johnson County properties.
