Body found in Merriam house during demolition identified as Overland Park man

Merriam Police buildingThe body found Friday at a house being demolished in Merriam has been identified at a 79-year-old Overland Park man.

Merriam police said the body was that of Donald Kimbley. “The house had been vacant for a long time,” said Capt. Troy Duvanel. Construction crews demolishing the house found the body after it was being torn down and debris was being loaded for removal.

Police said identification was found and confirmed. “We investigate them all like homicides until we prove they are not,” Capt. Duvanel said. Police do not believe the case a homicide.

Kimbley owned a house in Overland Park.
