Scores of young pirates invaded Arrr Park (that’s R Park to you landlubbers) Saturday morning looking for treasure – and they found plenty.

The Roeland Park fundraiser for R Park returned for its second year with lots of loot available from a variety of pirate games that were set up in the park on a day of perfect weather. Mr. Stinky Feet had the group rocking by the end of the festivities using the shade of a stand of apple trees for the performance venue.

A citizens fundraising initiative has been hosting a variety of events to raise money, first for a walking trail and then for other amenities, in the park. In the afternoon the community block party had even more people coming to R Park.
