Lancers open state baseball title run against Olathe South this evening. SM East’s baseball team will open its third straight appearance in the state baseball tournament at 5:45 p.m. today at Hoglund Park in Lawrence. The 18-4 Lancers are the three seed in the tourney behind Blue Valley and Sunflower League co-champion Olathe South. They’ll meet sixth-seeded Wichita West in the final of today’s four opening round games. The winner will advance to play either Washburn Rural or Olathe South Friday at 1:15 p.m. The title game will be played Friday at 5:45 p.m.
Former SM East student in Coro program. Clara Bernauer, a junior English major at the University of Kansas has been awarded a place in the Coro Kansas City Summer Internship in Public Affairs program. She is a graduate of SM East. Coro Kansas City is a partnership with the Hauptmann School of Public Affairs at Park University. It is designed to develop future community leaders through exposure to community issues, leadership development, civic leaders and organizations.
