Three northeast Johnson County public schools were among the 57 in the state recognized with a Governor’s Achievement Award for academic performance.
Corinth and Westwood View were two of the 36 elementary schools to earn the distinction. SM East was one of 11 high schools.
The annual awards are given to schools that have building-level Assessment Performance Index scores among the the upper quintile in math and reading. Additionally, schools had to be among the top 5 percent of elementary and high schools in the state.
Blue Valley led the state with two dozen schools on the list. Shawnee Mission was second with five.
