Lancer lacrosse team faces rival Pembroke on Senior Night. The Lancer lacrosse team will take the field against rival Pembroke Hill tonight at 7:45 p.m. A ceremony recognizing this year’s seniors will take place during halftime of the junior varsity game, which begins at 6:15 p.m. The Lancers are 5-0 in league play this year and 5-2 overall. They face defending LAKC champs Olathe East on Wednesday.

SM East golfers finish second in Leavenworth Invitational. SM East had five golfers among the top ten finishers at Thursday’s Leavenworth Invitational tournament, but couldn’t overtake SM Northwest for the team victory. SM East’s Matt Schutte, Jack Dierks, Hayden Linscott, Andy Scholz and Joe Brouillette finished fourth through ninth, respectively.

Change for Woodside development draws split vote. A zoning text change that was made by the Westwood City Council to allow a fifth floor on the parking garage and residential development of the Woodside Village drew one dissenting vote Thursday. New city council member Margaret Bowen voted against the change, which was done to conform to the already approved site plan. Bowen said she was voting against the change because she believed the height was too high. The planning commission had previously approved the change.
