NEJC community egg hunts scheduled Saturday in Mission, Merriam, Westwood, Roeland Park

RP Easter egg hunt
Hunting for eggs can be a joyous experience.

Northeast Johnson County children will have a wide choice of egg hunts on Saturday and even an opportunity to have lunch with the Easter Bunny in Merriam.

Merriam, Roeland Park, Mission and Westwood all have community egg hunts scheduled for Saturday. Here is the lineup of times and places that we are aware of at this point:

MerriamBrunch with the Bunny will be held at the Irene B. French Community Center. Registration is required over the phone (913-322-5550). An egg hunt, light breakfast and games are all part of the morning for ages 2-9, starting at 10 a.m. The event costs $4 per person.

Mission – The Bunny Eggstravaganza kicks off at 10 a.m.on the north side of the Sylvester Powell Community Center. The egg hunt times will be scattered for different age groups and include an Egg Olympics for those 10 and older. Activities also include balloon artists, clowns and inflatables.

Roeland Park – The annual Easter Egg Hunt has been moved from Nall Park to Roesland Elementary School, 4900 Parish Drive. The event starts at 11 a.m. and the egg hunt begins at 11:30 a.m. sharp. The change in location was made Thursday afternoon because of rain this week and more rain that is expected Saturday, potentially making the terrain muddy.

Westwood – The Westwood Community Easter Egg Hunt begins at 3 p.m. at Dennis Park. In case of bad weather, it will move into city hall.
