SM East junior Jake Randa on Tuesday announced he will head to Western Kentucky University after next year to play for the Hilltoppers. Jake, the son of longtime Royals third baseman Joe Randa, was key to the Lancers’ run to their first Sunflower League title in 29 years last season.

A power-hitting lefty, Randa primarily played right field for the Lancers last year, but did some pitching as well. He’s listed at 6’0″ and 180 lbs.

Teammates Joey Wentz (Virginia), Luke Anderson (Missouri), and Zebulon Vermillion (Arkansas) have all committed to top-level college programs as well.

The Lancers are Collegiate Baseball’s 14th ranked team in the country heading into the 2016 season.
