Overland Park man faces aggravated kidnapping charges from Mission Hy-Vee incident

Campbell_EarlOverland Park resident Bradlee Earl Lloyd Campbell, 33, is in Johnson County Jail today on a $250,000 bond after prosecutors charged him with aggravated kidnapping charges stemming from what appeared to be an attempted abduction in Mission Monday.

Police allege that Campbell used a knife to try to force a 24-year-old woman into his car in the parking lot of the Hy-Vee on Martway. She fought him off, and he ran from the scene. Police found him climbing atop the roof of the strip mall across the street 45 minutes later.

Johnson County court records show that Campbell faced charges of identity theft and theft in 2009 and 2010 for which he was sentenced to one year and one month in jail.

His preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 11 at 11 a.m.
