Mission advertising firm scores again with Royals billboard. Waltz Tetrick Advertising has become known not only for its campaign on behalf of the Kansas City Royals, but especially for the creative billboards it has designed to open the new year. This year is no different. The firm, located at 63rd and Nall in Mission, has come up with a 3D billboard that showcases Salvador Perez and his famous Gatorade dowsing. The new billboard is found in Westport just off Westport Road on Southwest Trafficway. It was attracting lots of selfie-takers Tuesday afternoon. Other Waltz Tetrick billboards for the Royals have adorned I-35 near downtown in past years. Charlie Tetrick of Fairway is president of the company. Fairway police remind of jury duty scam. Fairway police are reminding residents to be aware of a telephone scam that popped up last year. The person making the call may be impersonating a sheriff’s deputy or assistant district attorney. The caller often says they failed to report for jury duty and a warrant has been issued for their arrest. They ask the victim to purchase a money card. No legitimate call about a warrant would include a demand for immediate payment over the phone. Residents who receive this type of call should notify police.
State of the County scheduled. County Chair Ed Eilert will give the State of the County address for Johnson County during a luncheon on March 22 at the Ritz Charles in Overland Park.
