If you’ve seen a big white van driving slowly through your neighborhood and wondered what what going on, chances are you’ve been visited by a contractor working for the Johnson County Appraiser’s Office.

Tyler Technologies has begun the task of taking high-resolution exterior photos of every property in the county — more than 187,000 parcels in total.

Crews began making their rounds Jan. 8, and are starting in the northeast Johnson County cities of Mission, Roeland Park, Fairway, Mission Hills, Westwood, Westwood Hills and Mission Woods, as well as the far west portion of Merriam.
