The long-rumored transformation of The Clarette Club in the Mission Mart apparently is coming to fruition.

The Peanut has applied for building permits to remodel the space that The Clarette Club occupied until it closed in August. The city has confirmed that the building permits were taken out in the name of The Peanut.

At the time Clarette closed it was speculated in The Pitch that The Peanut was coming to town. The Peanut, famous for its BLTs, has its original location – the longest continuously operating bar in Kansas City, Mo. – just south of the Plaza. It also has locations downtown Kansas City, on Santa Fe in Overland Park as well as 127th and Metcalf and in Lee’s Summit.

The space is on the Martway side of the Mission Mart across from Mission Bowl.
