PVPDPrairie Village Police hosting next Coffee with a Cop event Friday. Prairie Village officers will be on hand at Einstein Bros. Bagels at the Village Shops this Friday for the latest installment of their Coffee with a Cop program. From 7 to 9 a.m. Friday, officers will be at the eatery to share coffee and conversation with area residents. “We hope our citizens will feel comfortable to ask questions, bring concerns, or simply get to know our officers,” said Police Chief Tim Schwartzkopf in a statement on the event. “These interactions are the foundation of community partnerships.”

SM East band playing at Village Shops Thursday. SM East band members will be playing at various locations around the Village Shops from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Many merchants will donate a portion of their sales to support the Lancer band trip to Orlando next spring. The merchants will have special offers as well. Donation jars also will be out at some merchants and near the ensembles that are playing.

Second Saturday at Antioch Library. The Johnson County Library’s Second Saturday program will have activities this Saturday at the Antioch Library starting at 9 a.m. with chess and checkers. Holiday story time and dance party starts at 10 a.m. and hands-on gift wrapping -recycled paper provided – will be held from 2 to 4 p.m.

Roeland Park looks at branding initiative. Roeland Park will put together an RFP for help in a new branding initiative for the city, The Roeland Park City Council heard a presentation on the steps to successful branding this week from Allen Foley and Kurt Bartolich and agreed to proceed with an RFP. Branding is one of the moves suggested by the strategic planning committee for the city.
