The Mission Holiday Lights and Festive Sights celebration that fell victim to the prolonged freezing rain this past weekend, has been rescheduled for Friday night (Dec. 4) at the Sylvester Powell Community Center.

Mayor Steve Schowengerdt will light the tree at the community center at 5:30 p.m. and Santa visits will be held from 5:45 to 8 p.m. Free Family Fun Night will be going on at the same time with the indoor playground and other events for children. The traditional fire pits and s’mores also will be part of the Friday night event.

The holiday celebration had been scheduled for last Saturday at the Mission Farm and Flower Marketplace at Reeds and Johnson Drive.

Music for the evening is still being confirmed.
