John Bailey, our beloved, continues his journey. Born March 2, 1943 to Rosina Sturgill and Clyde Bailey, he departed this life on November 19, 2015 at 11:55 am at Olathe Hospital, age 72, due to heart failure.
John was born in the town of Gibbon, Nebraska. He enjoyed working on vehicles and fishing and hunting. John was well-respected and loved by his family and friends. He loved chatting the time away with anyone who would listen, especially family and friends. He was always willing to help his family. He spent much of his time working on woodworking and craft projects with his wife of 24 years, Dianne Bailey whom he married on August 23, 1987 and who he has now joined in Heaven. John also enjoyed old trucks and cars, working on his house, and in the yard. John was a dedicated and hard-working man. He took pride in his employment at AEM and the Kitty Litter Plant.
John was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bob Bailey. He leaves his sister-in-law, Sharon Bailey, sons; Jim (Tressa) Bailey, Ed (Beth) Brousseau, and Rick Ross, daughters: Jeanette (Kenneth) Anderson, Pam Pitnick (Gene Campbell), Juli (Wes) Root, ten grandchildren; Samuel, Bethany, Caroline, Ethan, Stephen, Christopher, Erica, Brijona, Justin, and Sofia, four great-grandchildren; Nevaeh, Natalie, Levi, and Noah and his beloved dog, Baby. He leaves many other family members and friends which he truly cherished.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be announced on the Facebook page: Remembering John D. Bailey. Family requests donations be made to Olathe Hospice in lieu of flowers
