Police and fire crews in Prairie Village found themselves busy Saturday night.

A deck attached to a home in the 2100 block of 79th Street caught on fire around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, causing fire crews to block off the street as they quelled the small blaze.

About 45 minutes earlier, a driver on Mission Road experienced a medical emergency, causing the car to veer off the road and strike items before plowing into a utility pole and stopping in a front yard.
