SM East’s boys soccer team looking to advance to state quarterfinals. SM East’s boys soccer team will look to secure its place among the eight 6A schools that will compete in state quarterfinal play next week as it takes on Wyandotte High School in Regional finals play tonight. The game, which will be played at Wyandotte, 2500 Minnesota Ave in Kansas City, Kan., will commence at 6 p.m. The Lancers defeated SM South on penalty kicks after double overtime play Tuesday to advance to tonight’s game.

Rental inspection meeting in Roeland Park.  Roeland Park will host an informational meeting on the new mandatory internal rental inspections that will start in January. Earlier this year, the city council approved mandatory inspections for all rental units in the city. An informational meeting to educate landlord will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 4 in Room 6 of the Roeland Park Community Center. It is the second such meeting held in anticipation of the program’s start.

Mission Coffee with a Cop Friday. The next session of Mission’s Coffee with a Cop meeting will start at 8 a.m. Friday at Twisted Sisters Coffee Shop on Johnson Drive. Mission police buy the coffee and donuts for residents who want to stop by and talk.
