Starting this coming Monday, you might notice that some of the buses traveling northeast Johnson County’s major thoroughfares have a new look.
As part of an effort to improve public transportation throughout the metro area, Johnson County and the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority late last year signed an agreement that combined many of their administrative functions, saving the county around $450,000 per year. Now the transportation agency is moving to rebrand all regional public transportation vehicles with a common look.
Gone will be the familiar “The JO” imagery that’s adorned the side of Johnson County buses for the past 16 years. The newly painted buses will now feature blue and grey coloring with a “RideKC” logo on them.
