Nothing Bundt Cakes has opened a Mission location to add to its Overland Park store. Jim Edwards owns the franchise for both spots.

The operation is a family affair with Edwards’ wife, Bev, and children Alex and Karen. Karen will manage the Mission store and Alex is director of operations for the franchises. Edwards, who has both a teaching and business background, said they looked hard for a second location and were happy to be in Mission.

The store is at 6850 Johnson Drive in the shopping area behind Applebee’s and near Kansas Sampler.

It has been two years since the first store opened and Edwards said it “has been a wonderful ride so far” with a great response. The Mission store will hold a special event on Saturday. The Edwards family celebrated the store opening Thursday morning with a ribbon-cutting sponsored by the Northeast Johnson County Chamber of Commerce.

The store carries a variety of sizes and flavors of bundt cakes that can be specially decorated.
