It was a day that both dogs and their human escorts could enjoy Saturday when a traditional Oktoberfest celebration turned into Bark!toberfest in Roeland Park.

Dogs of all shapes and sizes roamed the park for the dog activities and contests in the morning. The winner of the dog costume contest was a Chihuahua named Sage dressed as a bar maid – perfect for any Oktoberfest celebration. Owner Crystal Haney said Sage likes to dress up and bar maid is not her only costume.

A variety of dog contests were held, including smallest, biggest, most spots. Dogs got a chance to run the agility course.

Beer and brats and music were part of the celebration in Roeland Park and a later event in Westwood.
