Belinder Elementary placed on lockdown as police search for suspects from KCMO crash

Belinder_SchoolAuthorities ordered Belinder Elementary placed on lockdown Monday afternoon as police searched for suspects involved in a crash with a police car in Kansas City, Mo.

The wreck in Kansas City occurred around 3:10 p.m., the time that Belinder lets out for the day, and the suspects fled across the state line. Prairie Village police officers assisting in the pursuit stopped the vehicle that had been involved in the crash in the 3500 block of W. 69th Street in Mission Hills, just across from Indian Hills Country Club. One witness said four Prairie Village police vehicles and two Kansas City police vehicles were on the scene outside the club as they took a young woman and one other person into custody.

Officers located a third suspect in Kansas City, Mo., a short time later.

Police had a presence at both Belinder and Indian Hills Middle School as the pursuit was under way.
