SM East’s Musical Revue returns for final performance tonight. SM East’s talented musical theatre students will bring this year’s Musical Review back to the Dan Zollars Auditorium for one final performance tonight. The performance starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $7 or free with a valid SM East student ID.
Prairie Village hosting Coffee with a Cop event Friday. The Prairie Village Police Department is hosting its second Coffee with a Cop gathering Friday morning at the Village Shops Starbucks. Beginning at 7 a.m., officers will be on hand to chat and answer questions with citizens. “We hope our citizens will feel comfortable to ask questions, bring concerns, or simply get to know our officers,” said Police Chief Tim M. Schwartzkopf. “These interactions are the foundation of community partnerships.”
Prairie Village pickleball registration open. Prairie Village has opened registration for its fall pickleball league. The league will meet for matches each Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. starting Oct. 6. The city is also offering a clinic on the sport September 28. More information is available here.
SMA race through Roeland Park Saturday. A 5K and a one-mile run will start out at 8 a.m. Saturday morning through Roeland Park neighborhoods. The SMA Race-N-Roll is a benefit to help find a cure for Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Registration on race day will start at 6:30 a.m. at Bishop Miege High School. Organizers are asking residents who live on the race streets to come outside and cheer, display signs or have music. They also are asking that cars be moved off the street to make the event safer. Learn & Play Saturday in Franklin Park. The Shawnee Mission Parents As Teachers PTA group will be hosting a free Learn & Play event in Prairie Village’s Franklin Park from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday morning. Families can meet other Parents As Teachers families, and get information about kid-friendly community resources and local educational experiences and just enjoy a good day to learn and play.
