The annual running of the Panthers will descend on north Prairie Village this weekend.

Prairie Elementary’s Prairie Pride 5K run/walk and 1 mile fun run will be this Saturday, Sept. 19. The fun run will commence at 8 a.m. with the 5K starting gun set for 8:30 a.m.

Registration is available online here, and includes a race t-shirt and breakfast at the event in addition to the race entry. Day-of registration is available as well for $30.

Funds raised by the event go to the Prairie Fund, which helps support the school by financing staff and other needs not included in the school’s budget. Currently, the Prairie Fund helps pay for the school counselor and a reading specialist. It also funds the “Young Spanish” program that provides Spanish education for Prairie students.

Anyone with questions about the event can contact Liz Beedle here.
