Leadership Northeast looking for 2016 candidates. You can express your interest in the 2016 class of Leadership Northeast, the educational leadership program sponsored by the Northeast Johnson County Chamber of Commerce. The nine all-day sessions include hands-on learning about important issues in Johnson County. You can make your interest in the next class known by clicking here.


Prairie Village native participates in language immersion camp. Prairie Village resident Brooks Dailey, an incoming freshman at Rockhurst High School, recently completed a two-week session at the Les Voyageurs French Language camp outside Bemidji, Minn. The camp is a program of Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn.

Mission sponsoring float trip. A float trip down the Kansas River is being organized in Mission. The trip will run from De Soto to Cedar Creek on Oct. 18 starting at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per boat for a canoe or kayak and includes a hot dog lunch on a sandbar.
