Prairie Village native tapped to head Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas announced this week that Prairie Village native Robert Steven Kaplan would take over as head of the organization Sept. 8. Commerce Bank timeline extended through September. Roeland Park agreed this week to extend the development deadline for Commerce Bank through the end of September. The short extension gives the city time to negotiate with Commerce on cost sharing for the changes to Roe Avenue that would allow turning access to the property Commerce purchased from the city at the northwest corner of Roe and Johnson Drive. Commerce has been looking for a second tenant for the land. A possible Community Improvement District also will be part of the negotiations. Commerce is expected to make an additional payment to the city to compensate for the delay in developing the property.

Search for new city administrator continues.  The Roeland Park City Council continued to hold executive sessions this week to interview candidates for city administrator. The job has been vacant since Aaron Otto left to join the staff at Johnson County this summer. Mark Pentz has been serving as interim administrator. The council said the applicants have been reduced to four finalists.
