Lancer Dancers set annual pancake breakfast for Aug. 22. The Lancer Dancers’ annual all-you-can-eat Back to School Pancake Breakfast will be next Saturday, Aug. 22. Chris Cakes will be on hand in the SM East Auxiliary Gym serving up pancakes, sausage and orange juice. New this year will be a topping bar with a variety of additions to your flapjacks. Proceeds benefit the Lancer Dancer Booster Club, and help pay for travel to competition, uniforms and equipment.

Prairie Village teen hurt in car crash. Kenton E. Parrett, 19, of Prairie Village was flown to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita after an accident along I-70 near Quinter in which his car rolled several times. He was first taken to Gove County Medical Center after the Thursday morning accident. Garrett’s car reportedly entered the median, came back onto the road and then into the median again. Prairie Village Police Department hosting golf scramble to benefit Special Olympics. The Prairie Village Police Department will be holding a golf scramble Tuesday, August 25 at Tomahawk Hills in Shawnee to benefit the Special Olympics. Registration for a single golfer is $65 and for a team of four is $260. For registration information, email Adam Taylor.

Northeast Johnson County Chamber gala set for November 21.  The Northeast Johnson County Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual gala for 2015 at the Overland Park Marriott on Nov. 21. It will feature a pre-event reception, dinner, dancing and silent and live auctions. The black tie optional event will include the 2015 Business Awards.
