European Wax Center has opened its third Kansas City area location at the State Line Shopping Center in Prairie Village.

Martha Brown, who operates the wax centers with her daughter Curry, said Prairie Village was a natural fit for the company based on its demographics and the characteristics of the neighborhoods.

“It’s a great area with a lot of nice people in it,” she said. “It’s the kind of place you like doing business.”

The Browns opened their first European Wax Center in Leawood four years ago, and a second location at Zona Rosa a year later.

Curry, a Rockhurst University graduate who manages all three locations, said patrons come to the centers for their four-step waxing process. Each waxing session begins with a gentle skin cleansing following by the application of a preparatory oil. Next, attendants apply the company’s exclusive warm comfort wax. Once the waxing is complete, the process is finished with a “rejuvenating product” put on the skin.

“Our clients walk in, and they strut out,” said Curry.

European Wax Center offers a complimentary wax to first-time local customers. More information is available here.
