After three years of operating in the strip shopping center on 90th Street in Prairie Village, Christine Gregory is taking her Queen of Paws Boutique and Spa pet grooming service to a larger space.

But clients won’t have to go far to find the popular pet business. Queen of Paws is moving just one block north, to the space in the strip mall at 89th Street and Roe Avenue that most recently housed The Body Bar salon.

“We’ve been bursting at the seams,” Gregory said of her current space. “[Our current space] is a great facility, but we’ve grown out of it. We’ve been getting a lot of positive feedback about the move. Our clients seem just as excited as we do.”

With nearly 1,000 square feet of additional space in the new location, Gregory is planning on building out private grooming and bathing rooms as well as separate play areas for larger and smaller dogs. The move will also afford her the opportunity to hire more dog groomers, a full time dog trainer, and — for the first time — a cat groomer. Gregory said the business will also be offering care services for special needs pets — dogs who have been recently neutered, for example, who require attentive care in the days after their surgery.

Queen of Paws is scheduled to open in its new location Sept. 1. Gregory said she is planning to hold a grand re-opening celebration sometime in mid-September.
