Overland Park police Monday night were investigating a second shooting in the same duplexes where a double homicide happened last week.

Information was scarce Monday night, but it is believed that two victims may have been taken to hospitals after the incident, according to unofficial reports.

Police had blocked off 61st Terrace at Robinson and police were interviewing residents along the street Monday night. The east end of 61st Street was blocked off with crime tape. The west end of the street is a dead end into Crestview Elementary School that lies in Merriam. Cones were in the street at a duplex across the street and approximately two houses east of last week’s shooting.

A man working at a business along Robinson said they heard gunshots and called 911. The shooting happened at approximately 6:30 p.m.

Merriam police units also were working the scene.
