Northeast Johnson County residents looking to add a special flare to their next renovation project won’t have to travel far to see some of the latest trends in floor and wall coverings.

The new Floors & Walls of Kansas City showroom held its grand opening at 5834 Johnson Drive last week.

Owner Brian Hergenrader, a Prairie Village resident, has run the operation the past five years, and said he realized the time was right to open a showroom in northeast Johnson County.

“It’s kind of a neglected area as far as this business goes,” he said. “There aren’t too many floor covering stores in the area.”

The new showroom will feature displays of an array of offerings for floor and wall coverings, including traditional wood flooring, luxury vinyl tile that mimic the look of wood, ceramic and porcelain tiles, and glass accents.

“We wanted to be able to show off some of the specialty items we offer that you won’t find at your average Home Depot,” Hergenrader said. “These are the ideas that give a project a little bling and dazzle.”
