A second restaurant is coming to the Woodside Village development which is currently under construction in Westwood.
In a revised site plan filing approved by the Westwood Planning Commission this week, developer Blair Tanner showed changes to the phase of the project with has been under construction for several months at Rainbow Blvd. and 47th Place. Those changes include the addition of a 5,300 square-foot restaurant at the north end of the development that fronts on Rainbow.
No concept or operator was revealed to the planning commission and that is reportedly still under negotiation. The restaurant will have patio seating of 728 square feet on the north end as well. The space for the new restaurant was scheduled to be GreenAcres Market but last summer it was announced that the grocery would be delayed until the second phase of the project begins being built on the south side of 47th Place.
A 6,500 square foot Italian-themed restaurant to be operated by Bread & Butter Concepts had been announced earlier for the development. That restaurant, also with patio seating wrapping around an open walkway space, will be in the section at the corner of 47th Place.
Between the two restaurants, which will anchor the first-floor retail corners of the first phase of construction now under way, is additional retail. Drawings have shown a coffee shop across an interior walkway from the Italian restaurant. Three floors of apartments will sit on top of the retail space.
With the addition of the restaurant, several changes were made to the exterior treatment that opened more window space in the building along Rainbow and in the wall at the north corner of the development where the patio will be located.
A major renovation and expansion of the Woodside Health and Tennis Club also is part of the project. Tanner introduced revisions to that plan as well with a new look for the club entrance, the enclosed tennis courts and the entrance to the spa.
