Three NEJC youth celebrate Eagle Scout designations. Northeast Johnson County teens Andrew Clark, Jack Lischer and Charlie Tietgen this month completed the years long journey to becoming Eagle Scouts. The trio from troop 282 were honored in a June 7 ceremony at Leawood United Methodist Church.

Cafe Provence chef featured at Dinner Lab event. Cafe Provence Chef de Cuisine Dusty Remsing is to be the featured guest chef at Saturday’s Dinner Lab event in Kansas City. Dinner Lab, a national supper club that presents pop up dinners for members, opened its Kansas City chapter in May.

Mission downtown businesses in new guide. A brochure that offers the complete guide to the Johnson Drive business corridor in Mission is now available at most downtown businesses, city hall and the Sylvester Powell Community Center. The multi-page brochure, which includes a map pinpointing each business in the district, was designed by Kevin Fullerton of Springboard Creative. Fullerton has donated considerable creative services to the city during its Johnson Drive construction and rebirth.

Legislative forum on Saturday. This is your reminder that NEJC legislators will be on hand at 9 a.m. Saturday morning at the Sylvester Powell Community Center in Mission to talk about the recently concluded session of the Kansas Legislature. And there is plenty to talk about. The public event will run until 10:30 a.m. and offer an opportunity for questions. The legislative forum is sponsored by the Prairie Village Post and the Northeast Johnson County Chamber of Commerce.
