Lancer Lacrosse team looking for return to LAKC finals in semi-final game against Rockhurst tonight. The Lancer Lacrosse team has had more than a week to recover since its Lacrosse Association of Kansas City tournament opening-round win over Pembroke Hill. So the team should be fresh when it takes the field at Durwood Stadium on the campus of UMKC tonight in the LAKC semi-final round. SM East defeated Rockhurst when the teams met in the regular season in April. The game starts tonight at 5:30 p.m.

Mission resident named Outstanding Graduate Student in Master of Education at Emporia State. Mission resident Daniel Ferguson was one of 26 graduates of the Emporia State University Teachers College to earn special recognition as an outstanding student upon graduation this month. Ferguson was named Outstanding Graduate Student in Master of Education.

Rescheduled KC Thunder Ride to take place Sunday, start in Mission. Expect to see and hear hundreds of motorcycles in Mission Sunday morning as the annual KC Thunder Ride takes place to honor and raise money for veterans. The event was rescheduled from last week on account of rain. The public is invited to come see the bikes between 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. at Hy-Vee, 6655 Martway, before they leave for Topeka.
