
Shawnee Mission School District receives AEF from Jordan Robert Mann Foundation. The Shawnee Mission School District has a new life-saving device that was given as a gift in honor of a 2003 SM East graduate. Jordan Robert Mann died of a previous undiagnosed heart defect at the age of 22. His family established a foundation that promotes heart assessments for athletes. This week, the Jordan Robert Mann Foundation donated a portable automated external defibrillator to the district, which will be available at the district’s soccer fields. Rooker named fellow at Midwestern leadership institute. Fairway Rep. Melissa Rooker is among the 33 Midwestern lawmakers named fellows at the Bowhay Institute for Legislative Leadership Development, a program of the Council of State Governments. Rooker will meet with the other fellows August 21-25 in Madison, Wis.
