Wild-Scenic_FilmGlenwood Arts hosts Wild and Scenic Film Festival tonight. Friends of the Kaw and Kansas Riverkeeper groups will benefit from the proceeds of the film festival, which also will include a raffle for a kayak. The event tonight begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Glenwood Arts theater in Ranchmart South. Ticket information and the film lineup are posted on the Friends of the Kaw site. Art fundraiser Saturday at Roeland Park City Hall. Food, drinks, music, art and fundraising combine for a night to support the Roeland Park City Hall Arts Commission from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday. The event will be held at Roeland Park City Hall and will include a silent auction from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The event will include new paintings by Joy Baker, Anastasia Drake and Ryan Wilks. Friday Night at the Mission benefits Shawnee Indian Mission. You can enjoy wine, appetizers and the chance to purchase spring gift items for Mother’s Day or for the whole family on May Day. The Friday Night at the Mission event is, well, Friday night. It runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Shawnee Indian Mission. It will be held in the East Building, but tours will be given of the North Building and the proceeds benefit the restoration of the West Building. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the door or arranged in advance by calling Kathy Dix at 816-213-4357.

Mission Police raise money for Special Olympics tonight. Mission police officers will be the servers at Johnny’s BBQ at 5959 Broadmoor from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight in their “Tip A Cop” fundraiser.. Any tips given to the officer wait staff will benefit the Special Olympics Kansas.
