An SM East student is in Johnson County jail facing six initial charges related to the sexual assault of a minor.
Kessler P. Lichtenegger, 18, is charged with rape/intercourse with no consent and electronic solicitation of a minor younger than 14, among other counts. His bail is set at $250,000.
Lichtenegger was scheduled to make a first appearance in court at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon.
Johnson County court records show that Lichtenegger faced a charge of “failing to register” in September 2014, but the charge was dismissed by prosecutors.
Lichtenegger, a Prairie Village resident, has a Facebook profile that says he started attending SM East in 2011.
Earlier this week, Clarence D. Hartnell IV, a Merriam 18-year-old, was sentenced to 20 years in jail for trying to rape a woman he held a knifepoint.
