Prairie Village police nab car burglars after resident’s call

New_PV_Police_CarThree men were taken into custody early Tuesday morning after a Prairie Village man’s call to police helped officers track down the auto burglars.

A couple in the 7400 block of Village Drive heard their dog barking sometime before 3 a.m. Tuesday, and went to investigate. The husband saw three men walking down the street and then get into his neighbor’s unlocked car. The man yelled at them, and then they drove away. The man called police and was able to give them the description of the burglars’ vehicle, a dark red Ford Explorer. Police encountered the vehicle a short distance away at 75th Street and Ash and arrested two adult males and one juvenile male.

Two men, Wayne Colton Cisneros of Mission and Rodolfo Ray Jay Catilllo of Lenexa, were booked in Johnson County jail at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday. The juvenile was taken to Johnson County Juvenile Intake and Assessment Center.

The police report indicates the men broke into at least three cars. At least one of the men was also charged with possession of drugs.
