Roeland Park police investigating ‘stranger danger’ incident Friday morning

Roeland Park police say they are investigating a “stranger danger” incident that occurred in the city this morning.

An 11-year-old boy reported that a white male in a small black car followed him as he rode his bike to school, and appeared to be taking a video of the boy. The boy says the car followed him along 48th Street all the way from Mission Road to Roesland Park Elementary School at 4900 Parish. The driver, who was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, was holding up his cell phone as he was driving.

The boy could not identify the make, model or tag of the vehicle.

A 15-year-old girl reported an incident involving an African American man in his 30s in Roeland Park in November.
