The Barn Players kicks off its 60th anniversary season next month at Mission venue

The Barn Players, Mission’s award-winning community theater, is celebrating its 60th anniversary season which premiers Feb. 27 with the show “Catch Me If You Can.”

The oldest and largest community theater in the area, The Barn Players has been presenting shows for 60 consecutive seasons. For its anniversary season the theater offers six shows and 2015 season flex passes – six regular shows for the price of five. The flex passes are $90 or $75 for seniors and can be ordered on the theater website.

After the kickoff of “Catch Me If You Can,” the anniversary season will continue with “Avenue Q” starting April 17, “Six Degrees of Separation” starting May 29, “Equus” on July 31, “Thoroughly Modern Millie” on Sept. 18 and “The Producers” starting on Nov. 6.

The theater is currently running a Barn Junior production of “Footloose” that ends on Jan. 25. The Barney Awards program will be held Jan. 31 where the best performers and performances of the 2014 season will be recognized.

All of the shows are staged in the Barn Players Theatre at 6219 Martway in Mission, across the street from the Sylvester Powell Community Center. All of the showtimes, dates and ticket information can be found on The Barn Players web site.
