A serious car accident Saturday night led Prairie Village police to close the intersection of 79th Street and Roe Avenue for nearly three hours as medical crews responded and investigators tried to find the cause.
A vehicle traveling westbound on 79th Street hit a car traveling southbound on Roe Avenue at approximately 6:40 p.m. The southbound car took a major impact. Responders found the driver of the car unresponsive, and were forced to extricate him from the vehicle. A female passenger in that car also sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital.
The driver of the westbound car did not sustain significant injuries from the crash.
