The newly reopened Johnson Drive hosted its first holiday event Friday night and, judging from the lines, Santa’s arrival and the horse-drawn carriage rides were among the big hits.

After Santa pulled up in his own horse-drawn carriage, children waited with parents in tow to get a chance to share their wish lists. Another line formed to take rides in one of two carriages that circled from Johnson Drive over to Martway and back around.

In between, open fire pits gave a chance to warm up and toast marshmallows. The rain stopped just in time for annual event.
