Lancer Gridiron Club plans slate of celebrations leading up to state championship

SM East’s Lancer Gridiron Club has released a schedule of events to help get the community sufficiently pepped for Saturday’s 6A state championship football game in Emporia.

Organizers are encouraging people to tie Columbia blue ribbons around trees to show support for the team. On social media, Lancer fans are encouraged to post picture of themselves in SM East gear and share it via the Facebook.

Additionally, the club in organizing two gatherings:

A Community Pep Rally at 7 p.m. Friday night at the Prairie Village Shops featuring coaches, players, cheerleaders, the drum line and the choir.

A send off motor parade with the team buses heading down Mission Road at 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
