Prairie Village police thwart another burglary in progress after call from neighbor

For the second Friday in a month, Prairie Village police have thwarted an attempted burglary in progress after receiving a report from an area resident.

Police got the call about what appeared to be a break in in the 2100 block of W. 73rd Street around 10:40 a.m. The witness said two subjects had forced entry into a back door of a home. Officers arrived to find one subject at the scene. The other suspect fled in a vehicle, but got in an accident with a passing motorist and a parked car just over a block away from the scene of the burglary. Officers apprehended the driver and took him to a local hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. No one else was injured in the accident.

Officers were able to apprehend the second suspect at the home where the burglary was taking place.

Police and county investigators are still looking into the incident. Prairie Village Police ask that you have information, please contact them at 913-642-5151.
